Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Mobile, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade transportation facility; and 140,000-square-foot, one-story above grade transportation facility.
Mobile International Airport Terminal and Central Utility Plant Completion Project The work consists of the interior fit-out of a 140,000 SF terminal building, including interior framing, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), and finish work. It also includes completion of apron level construction with masonry, framing, basic finishes, MEP systems, and minor structural modifications. Terminal completion includes installation of exterior façade finishes, mainly Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems. The Central Utility Plant work includes installation of all equipment, piping, electrical, and HVAC work necessary to complete the plant, as well as installation of hydronic piping between the plant and other airport buildings. Some work is within the Air Operation Area, with special safety and security conditions and a construction-phasing schedule to minimize airport user inconvenience. Each bidder must submit evidence of competency and financial responsibility using the Statement of the Bidder included in the contract documents. Bidders must register and obtain plans and specifications online, submit sealed bids in triplicate on the provided forms, and provide a certified check or bid bond for 5% of the bid. All federal regulations, EEO requirements, DBE requirements, and Buy American compliance apply. Bidders are required to make good faith efforts to subcontract 9% of the contract value to small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The Mobile Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities.
