The District desires to purchase various rock aggregates from successful bidders throughout the year on an as-needed basis. Supplier selection will be based on bid price and distance from the mine to the job site. Quotes are for rock aggregate products that meet or exceed the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Standard Specifications for Coarse Aggregate, Section 901, as well as for materials not meeting FDOT specifications. Prices are for loading material onto the District’s contract trucks at the mine and must be guaranteed for one year, with an option to renew for another year. Bid prices should not include delivery. Bidders are required to submit electronically and ensure compliance with all requirements and up-to-date information, as stated in the instructions. Bidders may not contact District employees or officers except as specified in writing. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids or proposals and to waive minor deviations in otherwise valid proposals. The District encourages participation by minority business enterprises, requires a drug-free workplace, and complies with public entity crime and scrutinized company restrictions. Veteran-owned businesses may be given preference where applicable. The District does not discriminate based on disability and will provide reasonable accommodation as required by the ADA.
