Site work for a water / sewer project in Wayne, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade water / sewer project.

The project will consist of the installation of five 24-inch diameter Type C inlets; each fitted with a cast iron frame and beehive lid. Approximately 685 linear feet of 6-inch or 8-inch perforated pipe. All trenches shall be filled, wrapped with geotextile fabric as specified in the plan set, covering an estimated 290 square yards of fabric. One flared end section. Restoration efforts include 1,500 square yards of 4-inch topsoil, seeding, and erosion control blanket. Approximately 100 square yards of brick paver driveway restoration, and 30 square yards of pavement patching will be performed. Pre-qualification is required for the project. Hot Mix Asphalt pavements shall be designed, produced, stored, controlled (sample inspection, sampling, and testing), shipped, and constructed in accordance with Section 406, 1102, and other applicable sections of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, applicable Special Provisions, and Chapter 44 of the Bureau of Local Roads and Streets Manual and the following: Mix Design. All asphalt mix designs shall target 3.5% Air Voids and all production shall trend about 3.5% Air Voids. N50, IL-9.5 mm Surface course shall have a minimum of 40% passing the #8 sieve. Re-proportioning (within SSRBC adjustments allowed) of IDOT verified mix designs may be allowed and the contractor must submit these values for a review by the Engineer at least one week prior to the first day of production. One field TSR test by the Contractor will be required to validate changes. The AJMF during production shall meet the remaining IDOT volumetric requirements This work shall consist of furnishing aggregate for backfill all trenches made in the subgrade of the proposed improvement, in accordance with Section 208 of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction", except as modified herein. This work shall consist of removing, temporary storage, and security of the existing brick driveway pavers and base material and placing the brick pavers as described below upon replacement of the existing base. Pavers shall be in accordance with Article 1041.03 of the Standard Specifications. This item includes removing and properly disposing of failed sand, aggregate, bituminous, or concrete base material after the bricks have been removed. The ENGINEER shall determine the thickness of base course to be removed and replaced in the field after the bricks have been removed. The maximum thickness of the existing base course to be removed shall be considered to be 9 inches. Brick pavers that are to be reinstalled shall not be removed from the project limits. Cleaning shall consist of removing all debris, mud, markings, etc. with water and a brush. In accordance with the typical sections, a three-quarter inch (3/4") layer of sand, gradation FA-2, shall be constructed and compacted with a hand compactor so that the finish is free of all undulations, ruts, tire mark and depressions. Prior to the placement of the brick pavers the ENGINEER shall visual inspect the driveway to receive the brick pavers. The CONTRACTOR shall repair any area deemed necessary by the ENGINEER by adding additional sand and compacting the area. The pattern of the brick pavers shall be identical to the existing driveway pattern prior to construction. Any damaged brick pavers or nonbrick pavement shall be disposed of offsite. This work shall consist of constructing catch basins and manholes of the size indicated on the plans, together with the necessary cast iron frames and lids, in accordance with Section 602 of the "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS for Road and Bridge Construction", except as specified herein. Catch basins and manholes shall be constructed in accordance with the plan details. IDOT standard catch basins and manholes may be used where applicable with advanced approval from the Village. The contractor shall use precast concrete structures unless otherwise approved by the Village. Furnishing and installing the frame and lid specified in the contract item description shall be included in the cost of this item. This work shall consist of restoring turf landscape areas as a result of construction operations for the proposed improvements. The work shall include furnishing of 4" of topsoil, preparing the seed bed and placing the seed, placement of erosion control media, and other materials required in seeding operations on the disturbed areas such as the new sidewalk installation.
