General Scope of Work: Construction of a new 14 foot wide gravel access road off of High Street in Bellingham, MA. Disturbances should be kept to a minimum. All work must comply with local, state, and federal requirements and regulations. A 5% bid bond is required and must be submitted with the bids. Contractor selected to perform work will be required to provide 50% payment bond. Firms must be able to supply insurance certificates indicating coverage as noted in the bid documents and the contractor will be required to sign an indemnity agreement prior to award of work under this bid. All labor performing work on this contract must be paid in accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts approved wage scales. Certified payrolls must be provided to the town for all work performed. Firms submitting prices must be equal opportunity and affirmative action employers. Well 10 Access Road Easement through Varney Brothers Sand and Gravel, Inc. B. Work Included: The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Construction of Access Road: a. Installing and maintaining erosion and sedimentation controls the length of construction activities. b. Selective clearing and grubbing along the shoulder of the existing access road to accommodate proposed access road. c. Mass earthwork cut to fill. d. Installing riprap, geotextile fabric, and erosion control mating for slope stabilization adjacent to the proposed access road. e. Placing, grading, and compacting gravel base and top course the full length of the proposed access road. f.
