Sealed bids are invited for asbestos abatement at 397 W. Armitage Ave., Elmhurst, IL 60126. Bidders must obtain removal specifications at a mandatory pre-bid walk-through conducted by the consultant. Attendance at the pre-bid walk-through is mandatory; failure to attend will result in disqualification. Each bid must include a bid guarantee in the form of a bid bond from a company with an A-1 best rating, amounting to at least ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to Elmhurst Park District. No bids may be withdrawn for thirty (30) days after the opening date without the owner's consent. The successful bidder is required to provide a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond in the full amount of the contract, both acceptable to the owner. Contractors must submit a lump sum bid and requested alternate bids for the entire project, including the cost for the required performance and payment bonds. The asbestos abatement contractor is responsible for all work outlined in the specification that is not bid as a separate contract but is not responsible for coordination of trades not included in the contract.
