Renovation of an educational facility in Dublin, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Sealed bids are solicited by the Board of Education of the Dublin City School District for the Wright and Glacier Ridge Elementary Schools FY2026 Mechanical Upgrades. Inquiries regarding the Bidding Documents, including requests for clarifications or interpretations, request for information, or proposal of substitutions shall be submitted by e-mail to Prater Engineering Associates, Inc., Attn: Stephen Danielsen, P.E. at sdanielsen@praterengr.com. The subject line of the e-mail should clearly read "Glacier Ridge and Wright Elementary Schools FY2026 Mechanical Upgrades". The project consists of various mechanical improvements in seven of GJPS schools. The descriptions for each school are as follows. 1. The project will include work at two schools for Dublin City Schools. However, the project will include two separate plan review permits and therefore two separate sets of plans. The A/E will be responsible for procuring the plan review building permits. The contractor will be responsible for procuring all trade permits. 2. Wright Elementary School a. Contractor is to remove and replace existing boilers (2) and hot water heating pumps (2) with new boilers (2) and base mounted pumps (2) and two (2) new inline run-a-round pumps. Make new piping connections to boilers and pumps to make a complete and operational system. Install new hot water air separator, expansion tank and chemical pot feeder with connecting piping. b. Contractor is to remove and replace existing chiller and chilled water pumps (2) with new chiller and base mounted pumps (2). Make new piping connections to chillers and pumps to provide a complete and operational system. Install new chilled water air separator, expansion tank and chemical pot feeder with connecting piping. 3. Glacier Ridge Elementary School a. Contractor is to remove and replace existing chiller and chilled water pumps (2) with new chiller and base mounted pumps (2). Make new piping connections to chillers and pumps to provide a complete and operational system. Install new chilled water air separator, expansion tank and chemical pot feeder withconnecting piping. 4. The contractor is responsible for the removal and proper disposal of all construction materials not permanently installed in the project. 5. All ductwork to be insulated. Insulation of ductwork to be complete prior to system startup to avoid ductwork sweating and damaging existing materials. 6. All piping and connection points are to be insulated. Provide insulation pipe shields between all hangers and insulation. 7. Make new piping connections to chillers and pumps to provide a complete and operational system. Install new chilled water air separator, expansion tank and chemical pot feeder with connecting piping. 8. Contractor is responsible for all demolition and proper disposal of existing materials and equipment that are removed from the project. Contractor shall remove and dispose of any refrigerant in compliance with all federal, state and local codes. 9. Contractor is responsible for protecting all structures such as walls, floor ceilings, doors, etc and furniture. The floors shall be protected with drop cloths, protective coverings and/or plywood in all areas of work. Inspections will be made before and after construction. The contractor will be responsible for the repair or replacement of all damages finishes or structures. 10. Asbestos Abatement - Buildings are to be free of asbestos materials to the knowledge of the Owner and Engineer. Should the contractor encounter any asbestos they are to immediately contact the Engineer to review abatement processes. 11. It is the intent that sufficient time has been incorporated into the project schedule so that the contractor has sufficient time to procure materials and complete their work with within the allotted time for system startup, air and water balance, punch-list completions and project closeouts prior to the return of students. 12. Update the existing Automated Logic control system for the new equipment to meet new project requirements per plans and specifications. 13. Provide all pipe marking, valve tags and equipment tags. 14. Provide air and water balancing.15. The contractor is responsible to see that the final cleaning of all work areas is complete with adequate time for the owner to perform their own cleaning prior to students returning from summer break.
