This project provides for the conversion of the championship field within Bolen Park from natural grass to artificial turf. DC Sports Facilities Entertainment, LLC contributed $500,000 to be utilized for this project in the fall of FY 2024. At the September 17, 2024, Board of Supervisors Business Meeting, the Board approved accelerating this project from FY 2027 to FY 2025 by transferring unspent Economic Development Authority (EDA) Public Facility Revenue bond proceeds in the amount of $2,500,000 from the DC United Training Facility project which has been completed. The project is included in the County's 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of October 1, 2025, the schematic design phase concluded, development of the 50% construction documents concluded, and the land development application (Site Plan) was submitted to Loudoun County Building and Development. In the next quarter, development of the 95% construction documents will begin. Construction expected 1st quarter 2027 with completion 1st quarter 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
