Site work, paving and new construction of a transportation facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade transportation facility.
IndyGo is planning to construct a new platform to accommodate two BRT docking bays along Washington Street at the Carson Transit Center property. The project will include building a 14-inch platform, two covered waiting areas, pavement rehabilitation, and signal modification. The intent is to increase capacity for current and future transit needs, supporting the Blue Line BRT line and operational efficiencies for the Marion County Transit Plan. The project site is less than one acre, specifically at and around the Carson Transit Center at 201 E. Washington Street, with the new platform replacing parking stalls along the southern edge of Washington Street near Delaware Street. The design-bid-build delivery method will be used. The upcoming solicitation will be posted on IndyGo's procurement portal, Bonfire. Prospective bidders should register for Bonfire; registration is free.
