Sealed Bid Proposals will be received by The University of Alabama at Birmingham Facilities Planning Design and Construction for UAB Project No. 250300 - UAB Tinsley Harrison Tower 455 Lab Renovation located at 1900 University Blvd, Birmingham, Alabama 35294. Prime Contractors that are properly licensed for this type of work are required to prequalify in order to bid. Applicants for requalification are strongly encouraged to submit applications at the earliest date possible following the first date of advertisement. Pre-qualification requirements: Prime Contractors must be properly licensed for this type of work and are required to prequalify in order to bid. This project includes work to renovate an existing lab, located in Tinsley Harrison Tower (THT) room 544. The project shall be include, but not be limited to: The removal, relocation and reinstallation of a fume hood, providing utilities - air, gas and power for the fume hood, providing exhaust duct and fan for the fume hood, demolition and reinstallation of the lab room HVAC, installation and programming of a Siemens DDC control system for the lab room, installation of lighting for the lab room, installation of power circuits for the fume hood and fan, rework of the existing ceiling grid, relocation of cabinets within the lab, patch and paint of the lab walls, clean-up and polishing of counter tops and floors, installation of an eyewash and general cleanup. The floor where this work will occur shall be occupied during the time of demolition and construction work. Work shall proceed in a manner so as not to interfere with the work ongoing on the floor. All work shall be coordinated with UAB.
