Project Overview The City of Pawtucket is seeking a qualified contractor for the construction phase of JOHN STREET PARK SITE IMPROVEMENTS 2025 project. This project shall consist of renovations to an existing park in the City of Pawtucket. Work will include the demolion of the existing playground walks, landscaping and fencing and will also include the construction of a new playground, splash pad, parking lots, site lighting, basketball court lighting, stormwater features, paved paths and rubberized surfacing, paved parking lot, Drainage, concrete paths, site furniture, shade structures and landscaping. (General description). The proposed playground equipment has been purchased by the City of Pawtucket and is currently stored at 25 Freight Street, just south of John St Park. Bidder is required to provide a bid surety in the form of a bid bond or certified check payable to the City of Pawtucket in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid price. Bidder is required to provide a performance and payment bond as outlined in the City's General Terms & Conditions of Purchase (Appendix B of this RFP) in an amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the bid price. The successful bidder will be required to furnish all insurance documentation as outlined in the attached Purchasing Rules & Regulations and General Terms & Conditions of Purchase. The City of Pawtucket reserves the right to award on the basis of cost alone, accept or reject any or all bids, and to act in its best interest including, but not limited to, directly negotiating with any vendor who submits a proposal in response to this RFP and to award a contract based upon the results of those negotiations alone. Proposals found to be technically or substantially non-responsive at any point in the evaluation process will be rejected and not considered further. The City of Pawtucket may, at its sole option, elect to require presentations(s) by bidders clearly in consideration for award. Project Begins: 11/07/2025 Substantial Completion: 6/30/2026 Final Completion: 7/30/2026 The project is located on John Street in Pawtucket, RI, situated between John and Benefit Street and the George R. Bennett Industrial Highway In general terms, the Project includes, but is not limited to, the following construction activities: o Mobilization and provide controls as necessary to ensure public safety and facilitate construction; o Installation and Maintenance of erosion and sediment control devices; o Earthwork and site preparation including rough grading and final grading; o Provision and installation of temporary fencing for site control; o Connection to existing water service; o Provision and installation of new chain link fence; o Provision and installation of benches and shade structures; o Provision and installation of rubberized surfacing o Provision and installation of Trail Mix; o Provision for installation of concrete walks and paved parking lot; o Application of Pavement Markings; o Installation of playground equipment. New equipment currently stored at 25 Freight St; o Installation of drain pipes and stormwater controls; o Loam installation for disturbed areas within the site; o Installation of plantings and hydroseeding; and o Provision and installation of site lighting; o Provision and installation of sports lighting for basketball courts; o Demobilize and final cleanup of the site including removal of remaining erosion and sediment control devices and any remaining sediment, pavement sweeping;
