Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Chandler Hts, Arizona. Conceptual plans call for site work for a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
In 2002, the City of Chandler purchased 100 acres on the northwest corner of Val Vista Drive and Riggs Road for the future development of Mesquite Groves Park. About 10 acres were developed in 2008 for the Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center. Due to increasing population and development in southeast Chandler, there is a need for additional recreational facilities in this area. The Parks Strategic Master Plan (2021) identified the development of Mesquite Groves Park as a high priority, supported by community survey results. In 2009, a conceptual master plan was developed for the site. In January 2024, City Council approved a professional services agreement to review and update the existing master plan to meet current needs.
