SCOPE OF WORK Overall Requirements: The City is soliciting bids to furnish all labor, equipment, materials, tools, supplies, mobilization, overhead, transportation and all other incidental items for the fabrication and installation of outdoor staircase railing on a newly fabricated staircase. NOTE: All permits must be obtained from the building department, and all must be closed before total completion of the project. Railing system MUST meet all ADA standards. Fabrication of a railing system for the upper and lower sections of a newly installed set of stairs and landings. (approx. 240 L.F. of railing) Railing specifications: o All handrails must be between 1 5/8 inch and 2 inches schedule 40 steel pipe. Must be on both sides of the staircase. Must be between 34 and 38 inches tall. All handrails must have smooth continuous surface with rounded edges, and no sharp or abrasive elements. Installation: o Includes handrails on the staircase and landings. o Complete installation of all handrails including but not limited to: Proper installation to current building code and meeting all ADA standards. All material must be fully assembled and all finishes fully cured upon installation. Site cleanup: o Upon project completion site cleanup will include: Removal of all construction materials and equipment. Restoration of site organics due to construction. Include the anticipated stages of fabrication and installation along with the estimated timeline for each as part of the bid submission. The bid review period is considered to be sixty (60) working days from the date and time of the bid opening. During the bid review period, no bidder may withdraw their bid. In addition, all bid proposals are considered, and will remain firm, unless stated otherwise. Requests for price increases during this period will not be accepted. Project Timeline: The project must be started within 7 working days after the date in which the new stairs have been installed. The City reserves the right to cancel this ITB, award on the basis of cost alone, accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part. The City further reserves the right to waive as informality any irregularities contained in any bid not affecting substantial rights that may be in the City's best interest. Bids found to be technically or substantially nonresponsive at any point in the review process will be rejected and not considered further. Any such decision will be considered final.
