Description: Purchase and delivery of three types of potable water treatment chemicals for a period of one year (12 months) and an alternate bid for a period of two years (24 months) with two optional yearly extensions. Bidders are not required to bid on all requested chemicals. Chlorine 2.3 (150-pound cylinders:150-pound chlorine 2.3 gas cylinders to the City of DeKalb - Water Division located at 1216 Market St., DeKalb, IL. Chlorine 2.3 is used at the City of DeKalb - Water Division's five (5) potable water treatment plants to treat water for disinfection purposes. The City expects to use a total of approximately 35,000 pounds of chlorine annually during the term of this contract. Hydrofluosilicic Acid:Purchase and delivery of fifty-five (55) gallon drums (approximately 650 pounds/drum) of hydrofluosilicic acid to the City of DeKalb - Water Division located at 1216 Market St., DeKalb, IL. Hydrofluosilicic acid is used at the City of DeKalb - Water Division's five (5) potable water treatment plants to treat drinking water. The City expects to use a total of approximately 8,000 pounds of hydrofluosilicic acid annually during the term of this contract. Ortho/Poly Blended Phosphate: Purchase and delivery of fifty-five (55) gallon drums (approximately 650 pounds/drum) of Ortho/Poly blended phosphate to the City of DeKalb - Water Division located at 1216 Market St., DeKalb, IL. Ortho/Poly blended phosphate is used at the City of DeKalb - Water Division's five (5) potable water treatment plants to treat drinking water for corrosion control and for iron sequestration. The City expects to use a total of approximately 70,000 pounds of ortho/poly blended phosphate annually during the term of this contract. Last Day for Questions: October 14, 2025. Question Response Date: October 21, 2025. General Bid Notes: The City Council of the City of DeKalb reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to waive any technicalities, discrepancies, or information in the bids, or to waive competitive bidding and negotiate directly with one or more Contractors. The City also reserves the right to divide the Contract into multiple agreements and to have multiple parties' complete separate components of the required work. The City of DeKalb does not discriminate in admission, access to, treatment, or employment in its programs and activities.
