Renovation of a municipal facility in Dekalb, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade municipal facility.
Sealed bids are invited for the HACD Central Office Improvements at 310 N. 6th Street, DeKalb, IL 60115. Bids must be based on electronic bid documents obtained from 1919 Architects, P.C. Hard copies may be obtained with a refundable deposit, limited to three sets per bidder, provided the documents are returned in good condition within five days of bid opening. Non-bidders forfeit the deposit. Shipping requires a separate non-refundable fee or a valid shipping account number. Each bid must be in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the project name and must include a bid bond in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. Failure to include an acceptable bid bond will result in bid rejection. Equal Employment Opportunity and payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the bid documents are required. Contractors must document Affirmative Action efforts for Equal Opportunity, subject to review by the Department of Labor. MBE/DBE/WBE Contractors, Subcontractors, and Suppliers are encouraged to participate. The Housing Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities. No bid may be withdrawn for 90 days after the opening without written consent. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Interior and exterior renovation of the existing central office building. Work includes installing new exterior windows in precast concrete Double T walls, converting a large meeting room into two offices, converting offices into a largebreakroom, and two (2) deductive alternates. Deductive Alternate A1 is for the installation of Sola Tube skylights for illumination for interior spaces, Deductive Alternate A2 is for the renovation of the main entrance facade by removing mansard roof structure and replacing with aluminum panels and a turnbuckle aluminum awning/canopy Bids must be based on electronic bid documents obtained from 1919 Architects, P.C. Hard copies may be obtained upon a deposit of $50 (in the form of cash or check) per set and bidders will be limited to (3) sets. Deposits will be refunded upon return of the Bidding Documents in good condition, without markings, notations or other defacing, within (5) days after bid opening. Contractors that do not submit a bid will not be refunded their deposit. Checks should be made payable to 1919 Architects, P.C. If it is desired for bid packets to be shipped to bidder, a separate non-refundable check shall be made payable to 1919 Architects, P.C. in the amount of $25 or a valid UPS or FedEx account number shall be provided.
