The project site is located along the west side of S Turner Road between New Road and Fairview Road. The Mill Creek Metro Parks Bike Trail is west of the project site. The project site does not have a physical address. The project site access is located across from 6750 Fairview Road, Austintown, Ohio 44515. Steep spoil piles and irregular topography exist between and adjacent to the mining features. The dangerous highwalls have an average height of approximately 18 feet and a maximum height of approximately 24 feet. There are eight residences located within 150 feet of the mining features. The highwalls are located approximately 200 feet west of S Turner Road and within 300 feet east of the Mill Creek Metro Parks Bike Trail. A worn path from the bike trail to the highwall and piles of discarded brush are evidence of visitation.
