The Elgin Independent School District intends to select a Contractor for the Administration Building HVAC Replacement Project through Competitive Sealed Proposals. The project includes the replacement of 13 existing heat pump split systems with similar new units. Four of the fan coil units are floor-mounted and nine are ceiling-mounted, requiring ceiling removal as necessary for mechanical access. The contractor is responsible for salvaging and reinstalling ceiling materials to match original conditions. Four outdoor heat pumps are on grade and nine are on the roof. The contractor will also remove the acoustic ceiling and the ceiling above it to facilitate a structural review of the roof deck by the structural engineer, referencing structural and architectural plans for more details.
