Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Huntersville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Scope of work includes demolition, minor grading, sidewalks and paths, a playground, a pickleball court, and planting. Mecklenburg County Asset and Facility Management will receive single prime, lump sum, sealed bids for David B. Waymer Park Improvements. Bid, Performance, and Payment & Material bonds are required. NC law and applicable regulations of various licensing boards and BDI Provisions will be observed. Work will be constructed in accordance with all Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus program requirements, administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development in response to Coronavirus. Mecklenburg County reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals. October 21, 2025, deadline for receiving RFI, If any prospective Bidder is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the Contract Documents, he shall submit to the Consultant no later than seven (7) calendar days prior to the bid opening, a written request for an interpretation thereof.' Existing Conditions: a. David B. Waymer Park currently includes a variety of recreational and support amenities. These consist of a small playground with play structures, a basketball court, and a fenced tennis court. The park also features open lawn areas suitable for informal play and gatherings, paved walking paths that connect key areas within the site, a permanent restroom facility, and an associated parking lot that serves park visitors and the adjacent recreation center. 2. Demolition: a. The existing playground will be removed to make way for a larger, upgraded play area. In addition,selective demolition will include portions of the tennis court curbing and walking paths, as well as resurfacing and restriping of the existing parking lot. 3. Renovation/New Construction: a. The David B. Waymer Park improvements will include the resurfacing of the existing tennis court and its conversion into four dedicated pickleball courts. The project also featuresthe development of a larger, upgraded playground area that incorporates a fitness area. Pedestrian access throughout the park will be enhanced with improved walkways. Additionally, new parking spaces will be added, and the existing parking lot will be resurfaced and restriped to optimize circulation and capacity. Corresponding landscape, drainage, and furnishings will be provided with the park improvements. D. Contractor shall furnish all material, labor, tools, supplies, equipment, transportation, superintendence, temporary construction of every nature, insurance, taxes, contributions and all services and facilities, unless specifically excepted, and install all materials, items and equipment required to complete the construction of the Project, as set forth in the Contract Documents and as required to provide complete and operational systems. E. The Contractor shall act asthe Project Expediter and be responsible for coordinating the work and schedules of others hired by him.
