The City of Braidwood will receive sealed proposals for improvements related to the Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Standby Generator Replacement. Proposals must be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the City of Braidwood, attention City Clerk, with the name and address of the bidder, as well as the name and number of the project, displayed on the outside. Proposals must be completed on forms provided by the Engineer. A certified check, bank draft, cashier's check, or bid bond payable to the City of Braidwood, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, shall accompany each proposal as a guarantee that, if accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance properly secured. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount for the faithful performance of the contract, with sureties approved by the City Mayor and City Council. All bids must contain an offer to furnish such bond upon acceptance. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals, to waive technicalities, to postpone the bid opening, or to advertise for new proposals if deemed in the City's best interests. Contractors must pay prevailing wage rates as established by the State of Illinois Department of Labor and comply with all applicable Federal and local regulations. Bidders must have sufficient experience, as determined by the Owner and representatives, with street resurfacing and be IDOT qualified to receive bid documents. If, in the opinion of the Engineer and the City officials, an applicant would not serve the best interest of the City, a proposal will not be issued to that applicant.
