Renovation of a municipal facility in Merrillville, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade municipal facility.
The work consists of retrofitting existing fluorescent lights at the Merrillville Town Hall with light-emitting diode (LED) lights, maintaining equivalent lumens. The project may use the existing fixtures or replace them, depending on the requirements. Bidders must provide a detailed cost breakdown, separating equipment and labor costs. Labor must comply with the Davis Bacon Act Requirements. Contractors are required to be registered with the State of Indiana and licensed to do business in Merrillville, participate in the E-Verify Program for new hires, submit a non-collusion affidavit, and provide certifications regarding unauthorized workers and non-involvement in Iran's energy sector. If a bid exceeds two hundred thousand dollars, a performance bond or certified check is required. The selected bidder must perform the retrofit work while municipal workers are present and comply with town licensing. The lowest responsive and responsible bidder will be selected, and the municipality reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or waive irregularities that do not affect substantive elements.
