As of 1/2/2026, this project will be rebid. The work involves Splash Pad Repairs at Ashley River Park, located at 200 Renken Road, Summerville, SC 29485. Qualified firms are invited to submit bids for these repairs. The document provides background and general information to be used in preparing bids. Dorchester County is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the removal of damaged tile, repair of the substrate, and application of a resurfacing system in the splashpad area at Ashley River Park. The County intends to use the high-performance polymeric epoxy/quartz resurfacing system, Belzona 4131/5811 system, or approved equal. 1.2. Scope of Work A. Tile and Mortar Removal 1. Remove all existing tile and mortar from the decorative "river" section of the splashpad. 2. Mechanically grind the exposed concrete to remove residual adhesive and smooth the surface. 3. Properly dispose of all debris off-site. B. Substrate Repair 1. Restore any elevation loss, spalling, or voids using Belzona 4131 Magma Screed or equivalent nonshrinking, trowel-applied epoxy repair mortar with compressive strength >= 80 MPa. C. Primer and Broadcast System 1. Apply Belzona 5811 or equivalent moisture-tolerant epoxy bonding primer. a. While wet, broadcast aggregate (e.g., Torginol quartz or equal) to rejection. b. Vacuum or sweep off excess aggregate after cure. D. Topcoat 1. Seal the broadcast surface using a UV-resistant, slip-resistant, clear polyaspartic topcoat, suitable for wet environments and foot traffic. 2.
