Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Salt Lake City, Utah. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade sidewalk / parking lot.

Questions Due Date: Oct 9th 2025, 5:00 PM MDT The Work generally includes, but is not limited to concrete flatwork replacement, curb and gutter, drive approaches, and miscellaneous tie-ins to other structures in the public way, including asphaltic tie-ins. Some locations may require tree and stump removal at the direction of the Resident Project Representative, with the approval of the City's Forester. Sealed bids will be received via electronic upload through Bonfire, by U.S. mail addressed to the City Engineer's office, or by in-person hand delivery at the City Engineer's office until 2:00 p.m. local time for PUBLIC WAY CONCRETE, JOB NO. RDW25070. The work consists of furnishing and installing equipment, facilities, services, and appurtenances as indicated in the Contract Documents. The scope of work generally includes, but is not limited to, concrete flatwork replacement, curb and gutter, drive approaches, and miscellaneous tie-ins to other structures in the public way, including asphaltic tie-ins. Some locations may require tree and stump removal at the direction of the Resident Project Representative and approval of the City's Forester. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informality or technicality if deemed in the City's best interest. Contract Documents are available online via Bonfire. Bidders are encouraged to register with the Utah Public Procurement Place. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged as information affecting drawings, specifications, conditions, and scope may be discussed. Emailed bids or bids delivered to any other location will not be accepted. Bidders must allow sufficient time before the deadline to complete and upload documents. Bids will be publicly opened online via Microsoft Teams. The construction contract will be awarded in compliance with the City's value-based procurement program. Absent bidders assume all risk of failure to attend the pre-bid conference. A. The locations of the work are: Various locations in Salt Lake City. Most locations may be small and far apart. B. The work to be performed consists of furnishing and installing the equipment, facilities, services and appurtenances indicated in the Contract Documents to improve the public way at specific location. The Work generally includes but is not limited to concrete flatwork replacement, curb and gutter, drive approaches, and miscilanious tie-ins to other structures in the public way, including asphaltic tie-ins. Some locations may be repaired by mud jacking, grinding, and / or scarifying. Also, some locations may require tree and stump removal at the direction of the Resident Project Representative, with the approval of the City's Forister. The Work will be Substantially Complete by midnight of the 31st day of October 2026. WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. This Construction Contract provides concrete replacement of deteriorated or missing concrete in the public way, which may include ADA street access ramps, sidewalk, curb and gutter, water ways, water way transitions, and drive approaches, within various citywide locations as needed. Work at each location may be minimal. The Contractor will be asked frequently to move to many locations throughout Salt Lake City. B. Construct Work in stages to always provide for continuous public usage and ADA pedestrian access. A. Phase the work as follows: 1. All Contractor's on-site personnel may be required to attend Salt Lake City's in house Ramp Building Training Program if they have not already done so in the past two years. (This training is held once and only repeated if or when the Contractor's personnel need additional training) 2. ENGINEER selects a work location for sidewalk installation, replacement, or ramp installation and identifies, marks, and preliminary measures the proposed sections of flatwork and / or ramps to be replaced. 3. When directed by ENGINEER, Contractor removes the displaced sidewalks and gutters next to trees to expose the roots for inspection by the City's Urban Forester. The Urban Forester will authorize the cutting of the roots or the removal of the tree. This is the first construction operation to occur at each work site. 4. Twenty-four hours prior to staging or any other construction activity, Contractor distributes a "Construction Notice" Examples may be obtained from the ENGINEER, (Resident Project Representative). 5. Flatwork: Contractor replaces the marked sections of sidewalk, ramp, or other flat work. Contractor coordinates with Engineer prior to removal of any additional sidewalks, ramps, or other flatwork and / or curb and gutter or driveway approaches. 6. At all times, CONTRACTOR provides pedestrian access meeting ADA accessibility requirements and barricading requirements. Any flat work section removed or reworked (i.e., sidewalks drive approaches, ramps, etc.) must be replaced with a temporary surface within 1 day of removal and a final concrete surface within 10 days of removal. 7. Ramps: CONTRACTOR verifies ENGINEER's marked work area limits will provide for proper slopes and grades for the installation of the new ramp system. Any deviation from ADA guidelines or standards shall be presented to the ENGINEER prior to CONTRACTOR proceeding with any concrete removal. 8. Drainage: Contractor shall flood all drainage devices (curbs, gutters, waterways, etc.) both before concrete removal and after installation for ENGINEER to verify proper drainage will and has been achieved for said devices. No standing water in the pedestrian access will be allowed. Correction may be considered punch list work if not immediately corrected. 10.CONTRACTOR repairs all damaged landscape(s) and sprinkler systems in kind, and accomplishes a general site clean-up. 11. CONTRACTOR measures the work for payment and for proper drainage, slopes, and grades, etc. Submits a request for inspection along with pay request for each completed location, and an "Accessibility Ramp Reporting form" (Ref. Section 32 16 14) for each corner of the intersections re-worked. 12. ENGINEER inspects and prepares a punch list for each intersection or block face, and verifies measurements for payment. (ENGINEER'S measurements are final.) 13. CONTRACTOR accomplishes punch list work items. 14. ENGINEER makes payment per completed intersection or block face which includes all punch list items.
