Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Rome, New York. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
This project will rehabilitate the substructure and replace the superstructure of the bridge carrying Route 46 over Stringer Brook and will fully replace the structure carrying Route 46 over Lansing Kill in the Town of Western, Oneida County. NYSDOT Region: 02 MOHAWK VALLEY The current status of the project is In Development. The Bid Opening is expected to be in Fall 2026. Construction is expected to begin in Winter 2026/2027. Construction is expected to be completed in Summer 2027. As of October 04, 2025, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting Year is 2026. NYDOT : Rt. 46/Stringer Brook (BIN 1025780) & Rt. 46/Lansing Kill (BIN 1025790), Town of Western, Oneida County *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability.
