The work consists of the complete replacement of ten electrical substation cabinets for the traffic signal gantries on the Betsy Ross Bridge. This includes removal and disposal of the existing cabinets, transformers, panelboards, switches, conduit, and associated electrical equipment; furnishing and installing new cabinets, transformers, panelboards, switches, conduit, and associated electrical equipment; and cleaning and painting the existing structural steel surfaces under the existing enclosures. The contractor is responsible for coordinating and scheduling power outages and service interruptions, maintaining connections and electrical service to equipment outside the work area, and maintaining existing fiber optic facilities during construction. The contractor is obligated to successfully complete the entire project and every necessary detail specified or shown on the contract drawings and in the specifications, regardless of whether every specific detail is mentioned in both places. Bids must be submitted electronically via the Ariba Network. Bidders must be registered on the Ariba Network and have obtained ITB and contract documents directly from the Authority. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is strongly encouraged. All bidders are expected to thoroughly examine all contract documents prior to submission. Questions or requests for clarification are to be directed only to the designated Contracting Officer. Bids received from firms not recorded as having obtained documents directly from the Authority will be rejected. All bids must comply with submission requirements; late, faxed, emailed, or hardcopy submissions will not be accepted. inquiries received less than ten (10) business days prior to the scheduled Bid Opening.
