Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Mongaup Valley, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade bridge / tunnel.
The work shall consist of the design fabrication and supply of the pre-manufactured glued-laminated vehicular bridge as shown and described on the contract drawings in conformance with this specification, to the Sullivan County Division of Public Works (County). The bridge is to be of pressure-treated glue-laminated and timber construction and the supplier shall furnish all materials including connecting steel and hardware for a complete installation. The following shall be provided including but not limited to Treated Glued-laminated Timber Fascia Panels, Treated Glued-laminated Timber Interior Panel(s) and NYSDOT approved Timber Bridge Railings inclusive of the design, detailing, furnishing, fabrication, preservative treatment, and delivery of the following Glued-laminated and timber components as shown on the plans and included in these specifications Timber to be used is required to be West Coast Douglas Fir with Grades as required by the Contractor's designer to meet the design requirements. 2 Longitudinally Glue-Laminated Timber Deck Fascia Panels/Units. 1 or more Interior Glue-Laminated Timber Deck Interior Panels/Units Glue-Laminated Bridge Rails, Timber Bridge Rail Posts with Timber Spacer Blocks and Timber Rail Posts. Timber Transition Posts and Timber W-Beam Panel Posts Both with Timber Spacer Blocks (w/o W-Beam Panels). Timber Scupper Blocks. Timber Curbs and Curb Transitions. Timber Seat Beams and Spreader Beam(s). Timber Back Walls. All Timber to be preserved per UC4C requirements. Please Note that the steel Thrie Beam Terminal Connector, Thrie Beam Rail Elements and the Thrie Beam to W-Beam Transition Connector will be supplied by others and are not included with this contract. All bore holes in the timber materials are to be factory drilled in the Contractor's shop and treated with Copper Napthenate per APWA M4. Sealed bids are requested for the provision of a glue laminated bridge superstructure for County Bridge 368 (B-25-44). Bid forms and specifications are available from the Director of the Department of Purchasing and Central Services at the designated address. All bids are subject to the terms and conditions provided by the department.
