The City of Vista is soliciting proposals from qualified design-builder entities (DB) for the Building C Improvements Project . The selected DB will provide the City with engineering design and construction services for the Project. This Request for Proposals (RFP) includes a description of the proposal requirements, criteria for selection, and the scope of services to be provided by prospective DBs. The building is in need of renovation and expansion to better serve the needs of the City. The existing building is approximately 4000 SF and will be expanded to include approximately 1400 SF of additional area. The building interior will be remodeled to include, but not limited to, offices, restrooms, training area, locker rooms, conference room, laundry room and kitchen, with preservation of the HVAC system which is relatively new. The building will also include a grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) system intended to generate 100% of the electrical energy used at the facility. The building exterior will be renovated to match the adjacent Building A which was completed in 2021. The DB will present a design analysis in the Preliminary Design submittal to demonstrate the concept of the project is fully understood. During the renovation project, the five employees currently working out of Building C will need to be temporarily relocated to 1250 Arcadia Ave. This location was most recently used as a temporary fire station. Office equipment relocation and setup will be included in the scope of work. The furniture will not be included in this project.
