Project Description: This project shall replace the roof of the West Chemical Building at the Akron Water Supply Plant. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Domestic steel use requirements as specified in Section 153.011 of the Ohio Revised Code apply to this project. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of 10% of bids on a solvent bank, or a bid bond in like amount, acceptable to the City of Akron, as a guarantee, that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into. The proposer to whom the agreement is awarded will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the sum of 100% of the contract price for the faithful performance of the contract. The performance and payment bond shall remain in full effect until final completion of the project. Proposals may be held by the City for a period not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days after the date proposals are opened for the purpose of reviewing the proposals and investigating the qualifications of proposers prior to awarding the agreement. The Director of Public Service reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities. Bidders must use the prepared forms provided and comply with Section 34.03 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Akron, Ohio regarding public contracts, as well as equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order 84-9.
