Demolition, site work and renovation of an office development in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Completed plans call for the demolition of a office development; for the renovation of a 7,250-square-foot office development; and for site work for a office development.

The project consists of building renovations for the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama West Alabama Works Building. The general scope includes approximately 7,250 square feet of a two-story lobby area with selective demolition and new construction. The demolition includes interior walls, millwork, finishes, and fixtures, with minimal modifications to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing as necessary. New construction will involve new walls, finishes, fixtures, and equipment related to the lobby area and includes three single use restrooms. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms provided by the architect or copies thereof. All bidders bidding above the minimum threshold set by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding. The license number must be clearly displayed on the outside of the sealed envelope containing the proposal. All bidders must meet the criteria and requirements set forth in the Instructions to Bidders in the Specifications Manual and Bid Proposal. The owner reserves the right to reject all bids and/or rebid the project if it determines that is in its best interest. Nonresident bidders must provide a written opinion from a licensed attorney in their state regarding any local preferences for public contracts. Questions regarding the bid documents should be submitted by email to the architect's representative. No direct correspondence with the owner is permitted; all contact must go through the architect. A Cashier's Check or Bid Bond Payable to Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama in an Amount Not Less Than Five (5) Percent of the Amount of the Bid. Performance and Payment Bonds and Evidence of Insurance Required in the Bid Documents Will Be Required at the Signing of the Contract. Bids Must Be Submitted on Proposal Forms Furnished by the Architect or Copies Thereof. All Bidders Bidding in Amounts Exceeding That Established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors Must Be Licensed Under the Provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and Must Show Evidence of License Before Bidding or Bid Will Not Be Received or Considered by the Architect; the Bidder Shall Show Such Evidence by Clearly Displaying His or Her Current License Number on the Outside of the Sealed Envelope in Which the Proposal is Delivered. The Owner Reserves the Right to Reject All Bids and/or Reject and Rebid the Project Should It Determine the Same is in the Best Interest of the Owner. Nonresident Bidders Must Accompany Any Written Bid Documents With a Written Opinion of an Attorney at Law Licensed to Practice Law in Such Nonresident Bidder's State of Domicile, as to the Preferences, if Any or None, Granted by the Law of That State to Its Own Business Entities Whose Principal Place of Business Are in That State in the Letting of Any or All Public Contracts. All Questions Referring to the Actual Bid Documents Shall Only Be Submitted by Email to the Architect's Representative. Bidders Shall Contact Caldwell Architects of Al, Inc. For the Email Address for Submitting Questions and/or Requesting Clarifications. No Correspondence Shall Be Allowed Directly to the Owner and Any Requested Contact With the Owner Shall Be Through the Architect.
