Site work and addition to an educational facility in Woodbridge, Virginia. Completed plans call for the addition of a one-story above grade educational facility; and one-story above grade educational facility.
Elizabeth Vaughan Elementary School Modernization and Additions: Submissions will only be accepted electronically via the Bonfire portal by Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS). Registration on the Bonfire portal is required and free. Submitting proposals or bids through paper, telephone, facsimile, or email is not accepted. All proposals or bids must be uploaded and the 'Submit & Finalize' step completed to be considered successful. Bidders are responsible for planning ahead to ensure timely submission. All questions about the solicitation must be submitted through the Bonfire portal. Procurement activities are conducted in accordance with PWCS purchasing regulations as well as applicable federal and state laws. Questions Due Date: Oct 29th 2025, 3:00 PM EDT SCOPE OF WORK: The Work generally consists of a complete building renovation with extensive demolition of existing portions of the building and new additions. The scope includes but not limited to masonry, concrete, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and systems demolition and improvements, as well as site work. Equipment and furnishings indicated, shall be provided by the Contractor unless noted otherwise. Phase 1 Install geothermal wellfield and plant. Install DOAS-1 (and associated ductwork, VAVs, ATs, and piping) and heat pumps (and associated ductwork, ATs, and piping) serving Area A. Install hydronic mains and cap piping in corridor to serve items in future phases. Ductwork from DOAS installed and capped in corridor to serve Iterant Rooms (constructed in Phase 3). Classrooms Fifth 108, Fifth 109, Fifth 111, and Fifth 112 will be used as temporary admin spaces. For these classrooms, provide 10" RD OA duct and route the duct from the discharge of the VAV to the RA duct for the room. Lock the VAV open to deliver 400 cfm of OA. For the air terminal, S-3, 400 cfm, OA diffuser, provide flex duct, and ductwork shown but do not connect it to anything and cap it above the ceiling (this will be connected in a later phase). Regarding the other air terminals and ductwork, refer to the case-by-case direction for each classroom below. - For Fifth 108, o Provide four, Titus 50F transfer air grilles (same as T-1 in the air terminal schedule). o Install one grille in each of the locations: Registrar Office, Office, Principals Office, and Reception/Desks Area. o Provide 10"x10" TA duct connecting the TA grilles in the Registrar Office, Office, and Principals Office to the TA grille in the Reception Area. o The intent is to provide grilles and ductwork to allow the air to get from the individual spaces into the common area of the room where the R-7, 1,200 cfm, RA grille and 350 cfm, T-1, TA grille are near the door are to be provided as shown in the documents. - For Fifth 109, o Provide four, Titus 50F transfer air grilles (same as T-1 in the air terminal schedule). o Install one grille in each of the locations: Office, Office, Records, and Mail/Desks Area. o Provide 10"x10" TA duct connecting the TA grilles in the Office, Office, and Records to the TA grille in the Mail/Desks Area. o The intent is to provide grilles and ductwork to allow the air to get from the individual spaces into the common area of the room where the R-5, 800 cfm, RA grille and 350 cfm, T-1, TA grille are near the door as shown in the documents. - For Fifth 111, o Provide five, Titus 50F transfer air grilles (same as T-1 in the air terminal schedule). o Install one grille in each of the locations: Teacher Lounge/Conference Room, Workroom, Guidance Office, Psych Office, and the "corridor area" of the room. o Provide 10"x10" TA duct connecting the TA grilles in the Teacher Lounge/Conference Room, Workroom, Guidance Office, and Psych Office to the TA grille in the "corridor area" of the room. Phase 2 Install DOAS-2 (and associated ductwork, VAVs, ATs, and piping) and heat pumps (and associated ductwork, ATs, and piping) serving Area D and part of Area C. Install hydronic mains through Areas E, D, and part of C. Connect to hydronic mains installed in Phase 1. Cap piping in Areas C and D for work to be done in future phases. Hydronic mains in corridor of Area E to include branch piping to mech. rooms in area. Branch piping to include isolation valves and be capped. Install ductwork in corridors of Area E and cap mains and branches where appropriate to connect in future phases. Salvage any existing air terminals in corridors of Area E and reinstall. Ceiling is not to be reinstalled in corridor and a new ceiling is to be provided in a later phase. Contractor shall provide supports for suspending air terminals and any ceiling mounted mechanical equipment. Demolish all existing mechanical items in the western pod and cap any existing hydronic piping in corridor. Phase 3 Install DOAS-4 (and associated ductwork, VAVs, ATs, and piping), heat pumps (and associated ductwork, ATs, and piping), MAU, kitchen exhaust fans, etc. Connect duct mains and branches routed in during previous phases to VAVs, and ATs. Connect hydronic branch piping routed in the corridors during Phase 2 to heat pumps and DOAS in Area E. Demolish all existing mechanical items in western pod. Phase 4 Install DOAS-3 (and associated ductwork, VAVs, ATs, and piping) and heat pumps (and associated ductwork, ATs, and piping). Connect to existing hydronic and duct mains in corridor routed in previous phases. Demolish all existing mechanical items in the area.
