The City is looking for Engineering support to develop up to three concept designs for a pedestrian bridge and associated sidewalk improvements from the intersection at Puesta Del Sol through Alameda Padre Serra. The services to be provided by the Consultant shall include, but not be limited to, those listed below. Questions and answers shall be submitted through the Citys PlanetBids portal, Q&A tab until 5:00 p.m., October 15, 2025. The City of Santa Barbara is inviting proposals from qualified civil engineering firms to provide preliminary designs for the Mission Canyon Pathways Project. The purpose of these services is to examine the feasibility of constructing a pedestrian and potentially bicycle passage adjacent to the historic Mission Canyon bridge. The Consultant will be responsible for examining the site constraints and developing design alternatives that address the challenges of this site. The Project area is located along E Los Olivos Street between the intersection of Alameda Padre Serra and Puesta Del Sol. Services will include, but are not limited to, a limited topographical survey of the Project area and boundary research; review of existing geotechnical investigation, biological assessment, cultural resources report, and hydraulic analyses; feasibility analysis, including identification of existing conditions and constraints pertinent to the proposed development and Project area; three conceptual design options consistent with applicable local, State, and Federal standards and requirements; cost analysis for engineering, design, and construction of the preferred alternative; and consideration of safety and maintenance arising from the proposed development.
