The scope of work consists of the installation of 4-inch waterline via HDD and open cut methods and the installation of an interconnection line that includes two tapping valves on existing lines. The 4-inch waterline includes the replacement of water services and the reconnection to existing water meter pits. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract on a lump sum and unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. All bids must be signed and submitted on the blanks provided and enclosed in a sealed envelope marked for the McComb Waterline Extension SR 613 Backfeed, WL #2820 Project. The bid guaranty may be either a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond using the form in the Contract Documents, or a certified check, cashier's check, or letter of credit in favor of the Northwestern Water and Sewer District in the amount of 10% of the bid. If awarded the contract, a 100% payment and performance bond will be required. Bidders must also submit an affidavit regarding personal property taxes, pay not less than the state minimum wage rates, and may not withdraw their bid for a period of sixty days after closing. The District may reject any or all bids on any basis, and reserves the right to waive irregularities that do not affect competitive bidding. Award will only be made after investigation of the qualifications of the proposed contractor. The estimated cost of construction is $281,000.00.
