Renovation of a mixed-use development in Alameda, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade office development.
Furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and materials, except as specified, for the renovation of existing office space into a new day center and night shelter for displaced community members. Work includes interior renovation of existing space, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure, new fire sprinkler and alarm system, replacement of existing sewer lateral, modification of the existing parking and site area, replacement of the existing roof system, and related finishes and modifications. The project is located at W. Midway and Lexington. Printed or electronic plans, specifications, and contract documents may be obtained from BPX Printing & Graphics for a non-refundable fee, with responsibility on each bidder to ensure they are on the BPX plan holders' list for receipt of updates. Bids must be submitted on the provided forms and be sealed, accompanied by a bid bond or approved security equal to 10% of the total bid amount. Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of the contract price are required. The successful bidder and all subcontractors must possess a valid California contractor's license and obtain a City of Alameda Business License. Prospective bidders must attend a mandatory onsite pre-bid meeting and site walk. The contractor must comply with prevailing wage requirements, Federal Labor Standards, and affirmative action requirements. Minority-owned, women-owned, Section 3, and emerging small businesses are encouraged to apply. This project is subject to Davis-Bacon Act, Copeland "Anti-Kick Back" Act, Equal Employment Opportunity Requirements, and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. Documentation of good faith efforts and business enterprise status is required during bidding. No discrimination in employment is permitted, and a Small Business Affirmative Action Plan compliance is required for award consideration.
