Fire alarm and sprinkler inspection, testing, and maintenance services are required for the Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and Livermore Veterans Affairs Medical Centers. The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, materials, and parts necessary to inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and suppression systems across multiple VA facilities. Services must comply with NFPA 101, NFPA-72, NFPA-99, NFPA-25, and The Joint Commission accreditation standards. Approximately 12,000 devices are covered under this contract. The contractor must offer 24/7 emergency service with a maximum on-site response time of four hours and provide unlimited service calls. Monthly invoicing in arrears is required. All work must be supervised on-site by certified NICET Level 2 technicians. The contractor must maintain a barcode-based inventory of all fire alarm devices and provide documentation in Building Reports software within ten business days of testing. Deficiencies must be corrected within 30 days, and daily reports must be submitted to the COR and Electronics Shop Foreman. The scope includes servicing various fire alarm systems (Simplex, Notifier, Edwards) across designated buildings at each site. Testing frequencies for devices and systems are specified, including monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual intervals. The contractor must coordinate testing with the Electronics Shop and ensure proper containment during sprinkler testing to prevent damage. Design assessment services for new projects impacting fire alarm or suppression systems are also included.
