Design-Bid-Build construction of a new engine repair facility and parking structure to support Fleet Readiness Center operations for Joint Strike Fighter engine manufacturing. The project includes construction of an approximately 300,000 gross-square-foot one-story high-bay engine repair facility with associated 20,000 gross-square-foot two-story support, office, and administrative areas, along with a 300,000 gross-square-foot parking structure. The facility will be a steel-framed structure with precast concrete walls, metal panel systems, a modified bitumen roof, and a shallow bearing foundation system. Interior spaces will include operational areas, maintenance spaces, storage and support areas, and administrative functions, as well as a loading area weather protection zone along the southern side of the facility. Built-in equipment includes twenty-nine double-girder bridge dual-hoist cranes, crane rails, an automated vertical storage system, and a passenger elevator. The project also includes construction of two surface parking lots, consisting of a temporary gravel lot with approximately 150 spaces and a permanent asphalt-paved lot with approximately 288 spaces, along with intersection improvements at Ranger and Birmingham. Two existing administration buildings and a covered walkway will be demolished, and displaced occupants will be relocated into the new administration extension within the engine repair facility. Project Magnitude is between $250,000,000 and $500,000,000. The contractor shall begin performance within 15 calendar days and complete it within 1017 calendar days. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
