Work to be Done: The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials and equipment and performing all labor necessary to The Work generally consists of the replacement of select large water meters (2 and larger) at locations throughout the City, including, but not limited to: Removal of existing meter assemblies and appurtenances; Furnishing and installing new 2-4 meter assemblies with full-size bypass, inlet strainer, test ports, OS&Y isolation valves, and AMI endpoint mounting; Where indicated, installation of above-ground insulated enclosures ("hot boxes") on concrete pads; Service tap adjustments or new taps as shown; fittings and connections required to tie-in; Commissioning and data capture, GPS coordinate collection, and pre/post photo logs; Traffic control, erosion control, surface restoration, and disposal of removed materials; All incidental items necessary for a complete and functional installation per City of Aiken Specifications. Participation of women and minority owned businesses is encouraged. Instructions to bidders include: the General Contractors License must appear on the envelope containing the bid; all contractors must purchase a City of Aiken Business License (including subcontractors); submission of a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 10% of the bid amount; and requirement for performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the agreement amount for the successful bidder.
