A project to replace the decks of bridges that carry I-86 over State Route 53 in the Hamlet of Kanona, Steuben County. NYSDOT Region: 06 SOUTHERN TIER/CENTRAL NEW YORK The current status of the project is Future Development. The Bid Opening is expected to be in Fall 2029. Construction is expected to begin in Winter 2029/2030. Construction is expected to be completed in Fall 2030 As of October 13, 2025, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting Year is 2029. NYDOT :I-86 Over Ny 53 Bridge Deck Replacements (Bins 1061611 & 1061612) *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability.
