Sealed bids are invited for furnishing rock salt for calendar year 2026, to be used for water softening by the New Carlisle Water Treatment Plant. The material and each bid submitted must strictly comply with the City's Specifications and Instructions to Bidders, available at the Office of the Assistant City Manager and on the City's website. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked 'ROCK SALT BID' and accompanied by a bid bond or a certified or cashier's check on a solvent bank, amounting to not less than ten percent of the total bid price, payable to the City of New Carlisle, Ohio. The bid bond or check serves as a guarantee that, if accepted, a contract will be entered into. A performance bond of at least ten percent of the contract price, with satisfactory surety, will be required for faithful contract performance. Checks for unsuccessful bidders will be returned within ten days after contract award. Any provisions attached to the bid may cause its rejection. The City reserves the right to hold all bids for sixty days, waive irregularities, reject any or all bids, and contract with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
