Renovation of an educational facility in Morehead, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Responsible General Contractors who have proper experience, equipment, and qualifications are invited to bid on this work. These factors will be considered in the Award of Contract and all work will be performed under the standard regulations for construction of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Mignon Hall HVAC Project will be located at Mignon Hall Residence Hall on the campus of Morehead State University. Full project scope and specifications are detailed in the attached Specifications and Drawings. Bids will be received from contractors on a Lump Sum Amount for the total project. All phases of the work shall be submitted in the manner herein described and on the official proposal form included with the conditions and specifications and shall be subject to all the conditions as set forth and described in the Bid Documents. Bids shall be submitted only on the Official Forms supplied by Morehead State University, Procurement Services. Failure to comply with the foregoing requirements will be cause for invalidation of bid. Final award of Contract will be made on an evaluated basis considering the offer that provides the best value for the University considering the following factors: Price - 90% The overall price for the base bid and all selected alternates will be considered. Due to the nature of the project, Morehead State University reserves the right to accept alternates in any order that it deems to be in the best interest of the University. Experience of the Firm and Team proposed - 10%. The submitting Contractors shall demonstrate their firm's respective experience with similar project types, to include experiences with the Owner if any, in addition to contact information identified per listed project. Projects shall be of similar project type, construction type, and scope within the last ten years. Please provide a minimum of two references. Bidders should also provide information for each similar project demonstrating the number and type of change orders required for each project and schedule adherence to the original agreed schedule. (a maximum of 5 points will be awarded for experience and references). Preference will be given to contractors demonstrating experience with similar work. The submitting contractor shall identify all key individuals that will manage the daily operations of the construction project. Submissions must include resumes and experience for the project manager and key technical staff. Preference may also be given to contractors who demonstrate supply chain diversification in their proposals. Substantial completion shall be 60calendar days after contract start date. Final completion shall be 90 calendar days after contract start date. BONDING All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders and/or General Conditions. All questions related to this project must be directed to Andrea Stone at a.stone@moreheadstate.edu. Responses to questions will be issued via addendum and posted to the Morehead State online . All questions are due by October 8, 2025 at 4:30 pm. Questions received after this date and time will not be answered. There is no fee for an electronic download of the plans for contractors. Contractors who wish to obtain paper copies of the plans should contact Lynn Imaging to make these arrangements. Printing fees are the responsibility of the contractor. Fees for plan rooms wishing to have drawings are posted on the Lynn Imaging page. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Clerical errors and omissions in the computation of the lump sum shall not be cause for withdrawal of the bid without forfeiture of bid bond. Bids may be withdrawn in person only, prior to the closing date for receipt of bids. GENERAL INFORMATION A. The Listing of major subcontractors, unit prices, and material lists are to be submitted with the bid. B. A prime bidder is to have a responsible authorized representative at the bid opening for post bid review of the apparent low bid that follows immediately after the opening and reading of the bids. Failure to comply with this requirement may be cause for rejection of bid. Event bid description: SEALED BID INVITATION NO.: MO-01-26 MIGNON HALL HVAC PROJECT Form of Proposal with pricing and qualifications consisting of the experience of the firm, references and the proposed team must be submitted. Bids, upon their receipt at the Morehead State University Office of Procurement Services, are stamped showing the hour and date received. No late submittals shall be accepted. Bids for this project will be accepted in-person or via mail only. The bid opening will be in person at the Morehead State University Office of Facilities Management conference room, 180 Martindale Drive, Morehead, KY. Tabsheets will also be available by request after the opening. Morehead State University, Procurement Services, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served.
