General work description: clean and place crack sealant material on existing roadways in various locations in Solano County. Bids must be on a unit price basis. Work must be completed within TWENTY (20) working days. There is no DBE requirement for this project. Submit your bid with bidder's security equal to at least 10 % of the bid. The successful bidder must furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Contractor must possess a valid business license. Work includes cleaning out and crack sealing various roadways within Solano County. Attention is directed to the Contract Documents for complete details and bid requirements. C The Solano County Department of Resource Management - Public Works Engineering is requesting bids from contractors to clean and place crack sealant material on existing roadways in various location in Solano County. This project involves the preparation and application of hot-applied crack sealant to existing asphalt pavement surfaces. Traffic Control will be required. The primary objective is to extend the life of the pavement by preventing water infiltration and further deterioration. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary to complete the crack sealing work in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. All visible cracks measuring 1/4 inch or wider shall be thoroughly cleaned using high-pressure compressed air to remove dust, debris, vegetation, and moisture. Cracks must be clean and dry prior to the application of sealant. The contractor shall ensure that the cleaning process does not damage the surrounding pavement or displace loose material into adjacent areas. Following cleaning, cracks shall be filled with a hot-applied rubberized crack sealant that meets the project’s performance specifications. The sealant shall be applied in a manner that ensures complete filling of the crack and forms a tight bond with the pavement edges. Excess material shall be leveled or banded as required to provide a smooth, finished surface. All work shall be performed in a safe, efficient, and workmanlike manner, minimizing disruption to traffic and surrounding areas.
