Renovation of a water / sewer project in Fairfield, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District (District) is requesting Bids from State of California Class A licensed and qualified contractors to repair a corroded shouldered-end coupling connection on a 20-inch pump discharge pipeline at the District's Central Pump Station facility. The work is located in Fairfield, CA. The District will use its standard Construction Services Contract to enter into an agreement with the selected Contractor for the work specified herein. A copy of the Construction Services Contract is included as Appendix B of this RFB. Contractors shall carefully review the Agreement prior to submission of a Bid. Submission of a Bid is the Contractor's acknowledgement that the terms and conditions of the Agreement are acceptable to the Contractor. The principal contact with the District will be: Melvin Aquino - Assistant Engineer 707-428-9164, maquino@fairfieldsuisunsewer.ca.gov Any questions on the content or intent of anything contained in this RFB shall be submitted in writing to the District, and answers to those questions may be shared with all Contractors. The District makes no assurances that questions received within three (3) business days of the Bids due date shall be answered. Due date for Contractor questions August 26, 2025 at 5pm General Project Scope a. Furnish a fabricated steel pipe sleeve with shouldered end and furnish new shouldered ends for an existing pipe spool to accommodate field welding and reinstallation of the existing coupling. b. Cut and remove a portion of the existing pipe and existing shouldered-ends that interface with the existing coupling. c. Field-bevel/taper the inner surfaces of the fabricated pipe sleeve and shouldered end, repeating as necessary to adjust alignment of the fabricated pipe spool piece with the adjacent pipe spool piece to within the minimum separation and deflection limits of the existing coupling. d. Field-weld the fabricated pipe sleeve to the existing wall penetrating pipe and shouldered end to the existing pipe spool. e. Miscellaneous pipe coating removal and protective coating application.
