The objective of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to select a contractor for demolition as well as the installation of a new septic system at Goose Island Campground on the south end of LaCrosse. There is an existing septic system that has failed that must be demolished and removed prior to installation of the new system. This new system is to be installed at the same site. The work will be done in the spring of 2026 as soon as weather allows. A date has been set for contractors to inspect the existing site; attendance is optional but suggested. It is the intent of these specifications to obtain proposals for the demolition and removal of the existing septic system which is failing. The new system should be designed to meet all requirements for campground septic systems. Proposal must provide sufficient documentation to define the new system. Such documentation may include but is not limited to contractor catalog sheets, general data sheets, drawings and sketches, technical specifications, and warranty information. Contractor is responsible for all federal, state, county, and local permits. The contractors are responsible for all design and approvals. We understand the underground tanks may or may not need replacement during the system replacement. Condition of the tanks will need to be evaluated. Bids should include tank replacement with and option for a deduct if the tanks are found to be in good condition. La Crosse County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals or portions thereof without stated cause.
