The Conservation Board has delegated this bid opening authority to the Conservation Director in accordance with Chapter 26, Code of Iowa. Questions - regarding this Request for Proposal should be directed to: Andrew Huck, Conservation Ecologist, (319) 892-6448, email andrew.huck@linncountyiowa.gov This public improvement generally consists of the construction of two wetlands and one oxbow. Work associated with this project may commence any time after the contracts are signed and all permits secured. Actual construction may not start until the shop drawings are approved. Project schedule will be negotiated with the successful contractor at the time of signing the contract. All bidders are asked to submit an estimated time frame for construction and if good used materials are available at the time of the bid submittal. A set of plans will be on file at the Office of the Conservation Board. All addenda issued during the bidding period are to be covered in the bid and in closing a contract they are to become a part thereof. Final date for addenda to be issued will be Monday November 17th, 2025. Each proposal shall be made on the proposal form prepared for this purpose. Any alteration in the official form of proposal will entitle the County, at its option, to reject the proposals involved from consideration. Bidding periods are to be covered in the bid, and in closing a contract they are to become a part thereof. By virtue of statutory authority and provisions, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa. Bids shall be made as a lump sum bid for each item requested on the proposal form for the Base Bid Quantities. It is intended that a contract be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder who is within the counties budgetary amount. Prices quoted shall be guaranteed for a period of sixty (60) days after date of the bid. Linn County and its Conservation Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive minor informalities in any bid or to make an award in the best interest of the County. Sealed bid proposals will be accepted by the Linn County Iowa, conservation Board for the project titled: Learning Farm Wetland Construction at the following time, date & location. The bid is to be placed in a separate envelope, while the additional required attachments are to be placed in a second envelope. A report will be prepared with the bid results and for the Conservation Board, who will act on the results at the public meeting on Monday, November 24th, 2025 at 12:00 Noon, at the Linn County Conservation Board Headquarters. Bid Security - Each bid must be accompanied with a bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the bid. The form of the bid security shall be as prescribed by Chapter 26.8, Code of Iowa.
