Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Worcester, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the construction of a 30,000-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
The City of Worcester is proposing to construct a fire station at 25 Madison St. in Worcester, MA. The new building will be a two-story, mostly brick façade of approximately 30,000 square feet. Work is anticipated to begin May 2026, with expected occupancy in June 2027. The project site is located in a densely populated neighborhood at the intersection of Madison Street and Southbridge Street, requiring coordination and accommodation of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Qualified and experienced Trade Contractors are sought for the following categories of work: Masonry, Miscellaneous and Ornamental Iron, Waterproofing/Damp-proofing/Caulking, Roofing and Flashing, Glass and Glazing, Tile, Acoustical Tile, Resilient Flooring, Painting, Elevator, Fire Protection, Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical. The process is a two-phase procurement under M.G.L. Chapter 149A, with this being the first phase, where only pre-qualified firms will be allowed to bid.
