Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and golf course.

This project includes removal of the existing bridge, removal of pavement, installation of the storm sewer culvert, erosion stone flume, revetment, grading, placement of trail subbase material, top soiling, seeding, and all related stabilization and restoration work. Trail paving operations may commence on or after November 1, 2026, with the exact start date to be determined by Parks and Recreation. All work, including trail paving and surface restoration, shall be fully completed by April 1, 2027. Written questions will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. local time on October 30, 2025. Said questions may be sent via e-mail to amanda.moore@cityofames.org or mailed or delivered to the Purchasing Division at 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, IA 50010. Each bid shall include the bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8 and as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Said bid security shall be based on an amount equal to at least 5% of the bid amount. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement in good repair for a period of two (2) years from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. After award, approval of contract and performance bond, all work one this contract shall be substantially completed no later than April 1, 2027. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
