Bids are invited for snow removal within the Borough of Fairfield for the calendar year 2026. Specifications and scope of work are available at the Borough office, by phone, email, or written request. Bids will be opened and a contract awarded at the regular Borough Council meeting. The following streets are hereby designated as "Snow Removal - Emergency Routes" and are identified in yellow in the Snow Removal Roads Map provided. 1. Centennial Street from its intersection of East Main Street to include Polley Drive 2. South Miller Street from East Main Street to its intersection with Wortz Drive 3. Wortz Drive from its intersection to South Miller Street to its intersection to Centennial Street 4. Franklin Street from Stevens Street to North Balder Street 5. North Spring Street from West Main Street to Landis Drive 6. South Spring Street from West Main Street to Steelman Street 7. Steelman Street from South Spring Street to McGinley Drive The contractor will also plow and/or treat for ice: 8. The Borough parking lot at the rear of 108 West Main Street 9. The community mailbox parking lot on East Main Street across Main Street from Ventura's Restaurant (Do not block access to the 3 spaces closest to Landis Drive. They are under a lease agreement.) 10. All alleys and streets identified in pink on the Snow Removal Roads Map. Additional guidelines during snow emergencies where snowfall accumulates 12" or more or when it is determined that accumulated snow is to be removed from curbs and intersections*. o All intersections fronting onto Main Street will be cleared to allow for a line of sight. o All storm drains will be cleared back to the curb. o Snow is to be completely removed (hauled away) from West Main Street between J Harry Kane Blvd and Miller Street. o Franklin Street is to be cleared to allow for two lanes of traffic, and the snow is to be removed (hauled away) from the curb on the south side. The decision to remove snow from curbs and intersections is to be made after consulting with: the Council President, [Pat Smith 717-642-5032 (h) 642-6557 (w) 717-487-5032 (c)] or, if not available, the Chair of the Streets & Alleys committee [Nate McNeill 410-499-2302 (c)]
