The work includes mowing nine flood-control dams and their auxiliary spillways once a year to control woody vegetation that may affect dam structure. The dams are located in the Huff Creek, Rabon Creek, and South Tyger River watersheds and range in size from 2.8 to 11.9 acres. Mowing must be performed in any area where vegetation exceeds 6 inches, including the top of the dam, lake side, downstream side, and auxiliary spillway, except for areas covered with trees. Vegetation must be cut to a maximum height of 6 inches. Trees and brush cut from the lake side must be removed. Disturbed areas must be revegetated with specified seed mixes. Work must commence after Notice to Proceed and be completed within 30 calendar days, with weather delays allowed. The contractor must maintain a five-day work schedule, use equipment safe for steep slopes, and ensure all motorized equipment has rollover protection and seatbelts. Hand cutting is required in tight or specific areas. Final inspection by the District is required for project completion. Vendors must submit a proposal with an overview of their company, qualifications and certifications, at least three references, safety record, and a proposed schedule. Proposals should be organized with specific headings and submitted electronically or in a sealed format prior to the deadline. All licenses and permits must be obtained by the contractor.
