Contractors qualified to perform the work are invited to submit competitive quotations, pursuant to the requirements of Section 26.14 of the Iowa Code. 1. Description of the Public Improvement to be Performed Pursuant to This Solicitation. The public improvement work for which the city is seeking competitive quotations is generally describes as follows: WESTWOOD 16' X 24' OPEN AIR SHELTER KIT INSTALL The public improvement consists of the installation of a 16' x 24' open-air shelter, manufactured by Legacy Post and Beam, which will be furnished by the City of Newton. - Construct and install all foundations and footings. - Assemble and install the shelter in accordance with manufacturer specifications. - Seal all exposed wood surfaces with a clear protective coat. - Purchase and install a complete metal roofing system to match the club house, including panels, trim, fasteners, and underlayment. - Provide all labor. equipment, tools, and incidentals necessary to complete the project. The work shall commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed, and shall be completed on or before March 31, 2026. 1. Contractor shall be responsible for requesting utility locates prior to beginning work by contacting Iowa One-Call at 811. 2. Seeding will be completed by City staff. 3. City Staff will mark grading limits.
