The project consists of removing and disposing of the existing discharge box frame and cover, saw-cutting, removing, and disposing of the existing upper concrete shaft, 6-inch concrete curb, asphalt, and concrete pavement; furnishing and installing a new vault frame and cover, constructing new cast-in-place reinforced concrete shaft walls; furnishing and installing a temporary water tight sealed cover, excavating, salvaging, and reinstalling existing backfill; furnishing, placing, and compacting asphalt concrete and concrete pavement, constructing 6-inch concrete curb; and performing all miscellaneous work necessary to complete the project. The contractor must possess a Class A or C-8 license at the time the contract is awarded and throughout the construction duration, and be properly licensed at the time the bid is submitted. All bidders must comply with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleets Regulation and submit valid Certificates of Reported Compliance for their covered fleet and listed subcontractors, if applicable, no later than 2:00 p.m. on the second business day following bid opening. Bid proposals from prime contractors who fail to attend the mandatory pre-bid networking/contractor conference will be rejected. The project encourages participation from disadvantaged/minority/women-owned business enterprises and the hiring of apprentices residing within Alameda County. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids and any or all items of such bids.
