Site work and renovation of a detention facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 67,887-square-foot, one-story above grade detention facility; and one-story above grade detention facility.
The general scope is as follows Renovations to the existing Wake County detention annex building, originally constructed in 1988, with an addition added in 2001. The facility, which has been closed since 2013, is to be renovated and updated to comply with North Carolina Jail Standards. This includes work on space layouts, architectural finishes, detention furniture and components, utility upgrades, and site work. The work also involves construction of a new open-air shelter to provide cover for Owner-provided storage containers. Sealed proposals are to be submitted for providing labor, material, and equipment for the project. All bids must comply with the requirements of the Wake County Minority Business Enterprise Program as outlined in the Project Manual. Bidders cannot withdraw bids for sixty days after the scheduled closing time. Wake County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. An electronic copy of the contract documents can be requested by email. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid conference is required for all prime bidders. All attendees must bring and wear construction site PPE. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Per Betty, estimated cost is arounf $10,000,000 to $12,000,000.
