Reference Number 0000305386 a. Before conducting removals on private property, ensure that the property owner has been notified and has given permission for their trees to be removed. b. Trees must be removed flush with the ground or debarked to the soil line to comply with regulations under The Forest Health Protection Act. C. Equipment used to cut trees must be disinfected with methyl hydrate before servicing other healthy Elms. d. It is recommended that tree removals be undertaken as early as possible to avoid high snow and other operational issues in the winter months. While winter can be a good time for tree removals (minimizes site disturbance), deep snow can make locating trees and removing trees flush with the ground more difficult particularly in bushy/wild areas. e. Site cleanup (branches, leaves, notches, wood) is the responsibility of the successful Proponent. The Town of Minnedosa is seeking the services of a qualified and professional Proponent to provide all requirements as outlined in the Scope of Work to remove and dispose of 34 Elm trees as part of the Dutch Elm Disease Management Program.
