The awarded contractor shall notify the City of Temple project manager before the start of the abatement activities to verify the proper scope of work. b. The awarded contractor will have access to the building's existing water and electricity for the asbestos abatement activities. c. The asbestos-containing materials must be removed and properly disposed of by an accredited asbestos abatement contractor. d. Specifications for the asbestos abatement activities including property location, building map, and photographs are provided in the Building Survey Report for AsbestosContaining Materials (ACBM) (separate Attachment 6.3.) and Asbestos Abatement Project Design (separate Attachment 6.4). e. As reflected in the Asbestos Abatement Project Design, the work consists of the abatement of approximately 5,962 sf of asbestos containing floor tile and black mastic located under the carpet, floor laminate, and ceramic flooring. Approximately 3,611 sf of asbestos containing floor tile and black mastic has been identified on the 1 st floor and 2,351 sf on the 2 nd floor. Additionally, 945 sf of asbestos containing materials has been identified in the exterior vapor barrier (waterproofing) of the external building envelope. It is estimated that the asbestos containing materials go to a depth of 7ft below grade. f. The Asbestos Abatement Project Design requires onsite air monitoring during the abatement process. Air monitoring services will be provided by Austin Environmental, Inc and be funded by the City for a maximum of 10 days.
